 THE NIGHT JOHANNESBURG STOOD STILL FOR CHRIST ...
Although it is probably the largest single gathering of people at a gospel meeting in South Africa, the Night of Bliss in Johannesburg was certainly not the largest programme ever to be organized by the Believers’ LoveWorld ministry. Friday the 28th of March was the date and “partly cloudy and warm with isolated thundershowers from afternoon” was the weather forecast for the Johannesburg area. Yet the heavens held their peace in obedience to the divine will. The very air in the city was thick with excitement and expectation as the long-awaited epoch-making event “A Night of Bliss with Pastor Chris” was finally here.
As early as 4:00 am on Friday morning, thousands of people in the surrounding cities and provinces such as Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Kimberley, Durban, and Cape Town had begun their trip to Johannesburg. Some others from neighbouring countries Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia e.t.c., had set out almost twenty-four hours earlier. Such was the expectation that many had arrived at the stadium the night before, fully prepared to brave the elements in order to secure their seats for the programme. By 9:00 am that Friday morning, the roads leading to the Johannesburg stadium rumbled as thousands of keen worshippers moved quickly to the stadium grounds. By 11:00 am, every available seating space both on the stands and on the field was already filled to capacity!

 CATCHING A GLIMPSE OF GLORY!
The scenario brings to mind what happened in the days of Jesus, where people climbed trees and came down roof-tops to see the Lord Jesus, hear God’s Word and receive their much needed miracle. People did all they could just to get into the stadium. “We’ve come to catch a glimpse of glory, and nothing would deter our mission” was the expression written on the faces of everyone present.
Shouts of excitement rent the air as the man of God, Pastor Chris, made his entrance into the stadium, bringing with him a heavenly aura characteristic of one who had come with a divine message and bouquet of blessings from God to His people. That indeed was his mission—to minister God’s Word to the teeming multitude and impart to them the blessings of the Spirit.

 THE WORSHIP, THE WORD, THE MIRACLES!!!
It was without doubt a night of miracles, blessings, signs and wonders as the dew of heaven came on everyone present, leaving miracles in its wake. The people were specially blessed and touched by the life-transforming presence of God that soaked the arena. The time of prayers, exhilarating worship and the subsequent teaching of the Word set the people in the right frame to receive all that the Spirit had in store for them.
The man of God wasted no time getting into his message for the people. His teaching for the night elucidated three important thoughts: who Jesus is, what He came to do, and His relevance in today’s world. In clear-cut terms, he explained that for those who believe in Jesus, not only will they live with absolute mastery over satan, sickness, disease and the negative circumstances of life, they’ll also be able to help others and bring them out of trouble by using His Name. According to him, “Jesus is the way out of trouble!”
