Pastor Ruth and InnerCity Mission partners rise to the challenge of indigent children at Murehwa, Zimbabwe.
Emissaries of the Zonal Pastor of CE Southern Africa Zone 5, the esteemed Pastor Ruth Musarurwa, visited Nyamutumbu Primary School in Zimbabwe’s rural setting of Murehwa, under the auspices of the Inner City Missions, on September 10th.
The almost century-old school is located in a remote area of the countryside, bustling with a total enrollment of 1,142 pupils, most of whom hail from an indigent background, a state of poverty so calamitous that their parents and guardians cannot afford to offer them decent and adequate meals, let alone pay for the relatively paltry school fees. This seemingly vicious cycle of poverty often results in very high school dropouts and, consequently, bleak prospects for the children.
It was in effect a timely intervention by the Zonal Pastor, who being moved with compassion stepped in, extending a helping hand to the children, launching the Adopt-a-Child Zimbabwe initiative. The emissaries serving as a harbinger of better days to come, came in the fullness of the Spirit God, paying school fees for the majority of the pupils and donating food stuffs to complement the children’s dietary needs.
Having done all, the gathering of staff, pupils and stakeholders were led to Christ. The crowd teemed with praise for the man of God, Reverend (Dr.) Chris Oyakhilome, for the opportunity, afforded them to receive a touch from the Lord and the resultant transformation of lives through the InnerCity Missions.
